Your Questions Answered

Posted by David Pell on

There’s nothing quite like stepping into a bridal boutique for the first time. The soft rustle of lace, the sparkle of beading, the shared gasps of excitement from loved ones - it’s a moment many brides dream of long before the ring is on their finger.

At All About Eve Bridalwear, we know those first steps can be magical - but also a little nerve-wracking. With so many styles, designers, and emotions in the mix, it’s perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed.

One of the best ways to feel calm and confident during your appointment is by being prepared. Asking the right questions will help you connect with your stylist, understand your options, and leave feeling empowered - not exhausted. That’s why we’ve created this helpful guide for you.

1. Do I Need to Book an Appointment?

Yes! At All About Eve Bridalwear, we work by appointment to give each bride our undivided attention in a private fitting suite. You can book your appointment here.

2. What Should I Bring With Me?

Nude underwear, a strapless bra, and shoes with a similar heel height to your wedding shoes are ideal but optional. Most importantly, bring an open mind and someone you trust.

3. What Is Your Price Range?

Our gowns range from around £1,000 to £4,000, depending on the designer. Be honest with your stylist about your budget - we’ll guide you to options that fit your style and price point.

4. Do You Have Samples in My Size?

We carry a wide range of sample sizes across our labels, many styles come in multiple sizes and we’re experts at pinning and clipping dresses to help you envision the perfect fit. We carry sizes 8-32 in store, with a dedicated plus-size area, with sizes 20+.

5. What Should I Expect from My Appointment?

Expect warmth, honesty, and excitement. Before you arrive, we’ll invite you to share your wishlist so we can have dresses ready that align with your taste - and perhaps a few surprises we think you'll love.

6. What About Alterations?

We work closely with trusted seamstresses who specialise in bridalwear. We’ll walk you through how many fittings you might need and what to budget for.

7. How Long Will My Dress Take to Arrive?

Standard delivery is usually 6-9 months, depending on the designer. We’ll let you know all your timeline options  including rush orders or off-the-rail gowns at your appointment.

8. Are There Any Designer Events Coming Up?

We often host exclusive preview events and trunk shows featuring new collections. Keep an eye on our socials or ask in-store - you might just be one of the first brides to see a new gown from your favourite designer.

9. What Happens If I Say ‘Yes to the Dress’ Today?

We’ll guide you through every next step - from deposit and measurements to fitting timelines and storage. There’s no pressure to commit unless you’re ready.

10. Can I Try on My Favourite Dress Again at the End?

Absolutely! If a gown stands out, we’ll bring it back for another look (and a few happy tears) before you leave.

11. How Many Guests Can I Bring?

We recommend bringing no more than 2–3 guests who truly support your vision. A smaller entourage helps keep the experience about you but we can accommodate more, just let us know if you wish to bring more than four.

12. Will My Stylist Help Me In and Out of Dresses?

Yes, your stylist will be with you every step of the way to assist with changes and offer expert advice on styling and shapes that will work for you.

13. Which Designers Do You Carry?

We’re proud to stock a curated mix of world-renowned bridal designers - from the affordable elegance of Morilee to the romance of Madi Lane, and the timeless glamour of Jeune Bridal you can view our designers here.

14. Do You Offer Accessories and Styling Guidance?

We offer a beautiful selection of veils, headpieces, belts and more. We’ll help you build your full bridal look right here in-store.

15. Can You Store My Dress Until My Wedding Day?

Yes. Once your gown arrives, we can safely store it for you until your fittings or the big day itself.

16. Will other brides see me in my dress?

No, at All About Eve Bridal, each bride has their very own private dressing room, with comfy seating for your guests.

17. Can I Take a Dress Home the Same Day?

We have sample gowns available off-the-rail in our dedicated Eves Outlet, at special prices, which are available to take away on the day. Ask your stylist if this is something you’d like to explore or book in for an Outlet Appointment.

18. How Do Payments Work?

A 50% deposit secures your gown, with the remaining balance due once it arrives. We accept various payment methods and will explain everything clearly during your visit.

Every wedding dress is made to order, so cannot be cancelled once the order has been placed.

19. What If I Don’t Find My Dress Straight Away?

That’s totally okay. We’ll keep in touch, refine your preferences, and invite you back for a second appointment if needed.

20. Can I Make Custom Changes to a Gown?

In many cases, yes! Certain designers allow neckline changes, fabric swaps, or the additions of sleeves, skirts, jackets etc. Talk to us about your vision — we’ll explore what’s possible together.

21. How do I get to you and is there parking?

We have a free car park behind the boutique and we are just a five minute walk from Newport train station. (7 Clytha Park Road, Newport, Gwent, NP20 4BU)

22. How do I know buying from you is safe?

As members of the RBA, you (the Bride) is covered under their BRIDAL ASSURANCE SCHEME.

23. What is the RBA Bride's Assurance Scheme?

The BAS is an assurance offered by the RBA so that you, the Bride, can ‘Buy with Confidence’ from an RBA member store. In the unlikely event of your RBA shop closing involuntarily before you can collect your dress, the RBA will endeavour to locate a replacement gown, or liaise with liquidators/administrators to ensure a timely release of your dress. By registering, we will retain your details on a secure database which can be accessed only by the RBA if the shop records become unavailable for any reason. On registering online, you will be issued with your Unique Reference Number. Keep this safely with your dress receipt. Visit: www.rbaltd.org.uk.
